Global Test Market

Exams over yeayyy ;) Last exam was on Thursday the 25th. Results gonna be out on 11th Dec. Can't wait to see how it all turned out.

Now I'm not sure about what to do for this holiday, aside from working...

Well anyway, since I was here (Australia), I started doing surveys from this one website when I got the time. It is a paid online survey website. So whenever you finish a survey, you'll get some points. Once you collect 1000 points, you can cash it out for USD 50. Nice, eh?

Here's the website btw, GlobalTestMarket.

However, you can get screened out at a survey. Probably because you didn't match the survey's targeted audience. But every time you screened out, you'll get sweepstakes points. Then you can participate in the daily, monthly, or quarterly sweepstakes. I haven't collected 1000 points though, but luckily I won the daily sweepstakes xD

Well at first I'm not sure if I got scammed or not, because as you've probably known already, the Internet's full of scamming site. But I can assure you that this one website is not a scam. I've just got my cheque mailed this week, yay ;)

It's not bad thing if you like doing surveys at your spare time. You can get paid and participate in the sweepstakes too! Not sure if any country can participate though, you can try it out yourself if you're interested :p

Btw I'm still playing MapleStory, my main character just hit level 100!
For you that doesn't know what MapleStory is, it's a MMORPG 2D, cute characters ;)
Here's MapleStory's Website if you're interested.
There's a big patch coming, they call it the "Big Bang". They're gonna change a whole lots of things, including the maps, game resolution, monster levels, and many more! Looking forward to it!

That's all I think. I guess I'll cya all later at my next post then! ;)

2 Exams Done, 1 To Go :p

So... apparently I didn't put any other post after that first mind maps haha... Well actually I finished studying that subject, and I can say that I'm pretty confident that I'll get an okay result, or more :p

Second exam went not as successful as the first one. Probably because the time for studying was not as much as the first exam. I got 3 days to study, and there were work commitment for each of those days. Even though only 3 hours each day, but I need to spend 1 hour for going there and back, and about 1/2 hour of preparing to go there (bath, etc.). But yeah, I can say that I definitely pass (if my calculation is correct), but not sure about the score... haha...

Now I got more time for preparing the last exam. More than a week. But to be honest I haven't started anything yet. I kinda already studied before for the MCQ test though... so it shouldn't be as hard as the second exam. Better start studying though Dx

Well at my last post I wrote about Aussie exams vs what I've experienced back home... I can say that the format of exam is different. Here I got MCQ, short answer and long answer questions. Back home, it really depends on the lecturer. I might get long answer questions only, or a mix of them. The difficulty was pretty much the same. But here I'm not as lazy as I was... so I can say that I understand things better here. At Indo, you would always find yourself too lazy to study. Probably because of the environment really supports that :( Your friends are as lazy as you, more or less. Actually if you want advice, it is better to befriend those that are not as lazy as you, so you can get a little motivation from them.

Well I guess that's all for today. All the best for your exams/your other problems to those who read this! ^^

Web Programming Chapter 1!

Introduction!

So, instead of making a summary of things, here I went making my first mind maps! Well apparently you can't really read it since the texts are too small -_-" Probably my next ones are more readable.

Actually when I submitted the picture to this blogger thing, I can't preview it because there's some error regarding the tags that they created automatically. Well luckily I'm taking this Web Programming and Web Development classes, so that I can quite easily notice what's wrong, and fix it. Yay! And there goes my pictures!

So what is it all about? Well I'm gonna write according to the slides that I got from the lecture.

First, it talked about the history of web itself, the World Wide Web (WWW), that was created by a dude named Tim Berners-Lee (1990-1991), at an institute named CERN (French abbreviation for 'European Lab for Particle Physics'). What was it for? To provide easy access to some cross referenced documents on the CERN's computer network. How did he do this? By making a hypertext link, that linked one documents to another.

This dude successfully created the first web server, and wrote the first web browser. And apparently, he also founded the W3C, which now becomes the organization that oversees the development of web.

Hmm... there'st still so much to explain here, but dunno if I got the time... :( Gotta start on chapter 2 you know... Well maybe later if I have the time I'll complete it (very unlikely tho haha)

Cyaz then

Exams Coming!

Heyaaa

Can't believe the semester's gonna end, and exams coming next week.
This'll be the first aussie exam that I'm gonna take, not sure if there's any difference with indo's exams... :(

Got exactly 1 week to study, and the first subject is web programming. A lot of php syntax to memorize and understand... Second exam would be web development. And last one is ETA.

Well most of the lecturers said that the best way to study is to summarize every chapter. I'm actually planning on doing that, and perhaps if I have the time I'll post them in this blog. Why? So that I can post things more often here haha... Well to help me memorize things too. Although the first I'm going to do is write them in paper... maybe... :p

At this moment all is good, hopefully till the end of this month everything's still as good, or even better ^^

Later then~

Good People and Bad People

Have you watched the movie called "My Name is Khan"? It's a good movie, and it teaches you with many moral things. Well actually I was kind of not sure whether this movie is a good one before I watched it, since my girl friends apparently cried so bad when they watched, and at that time I didn't want to watch sad movies. My other friend said it was not that sad though, and I think he was right. One thing that I learnt from this movie was that, in this world, there's only 2 kinds of people, good people that do good deeds, and bad people that do bad things. Doesn't matter his/her belief, race, culture, etc.

Well it's been around 3 months since I came here. And I found that sometimes I'm amazed at the people here. I'm talking about not only the local people, but all the mixed race here. You can find people from all around the world here, matter of fact, my group mates come from different countries.

Some people can be surprisingly kind and willing to help, even when I don't ask for a help. It doesn't apply only to me though, once I saw a guy at the uni. He looked confused and undecided about something, almost felt like he would need some kind of help or something. I didn't offer any help to him, but surprisingly, the lady that walked in front of me stopped, turned back, and asked him whether he needed any help. He said he was ok though, but yeah, people can be surprisingly good and sincere to a total stranger.

Things that I found to be surprisingly disappointing was some people would sometimes come to you, and ask whether you got some spare dollars to give them. This happened to me twice, both in the train station, but it was a different station though. Problem is, they usually ask for a dollar or two to spare, but once you take out your wallet and give them a dollar or two, they'll wait and kinda force you to give more. Once, this girl was like, "cmon, I can see there's some more in there". I was so pissed of at her, and I was so disappointed helping her. Like, I believe that it's irresponsible to stop random people at train station and begging/asking/forcing for money. And why act so rude to someone that tries to help you, please be thankful at least!
I'm starting to think of not helping random people that ask for money at the train station -_-"

So yeah, apparently everywhere in this world, there's this good and bad people. Doesn't matter their race, sex, age, etc. And being a good guy can sometimes be exploited by the bad guys... Gotta choose wisely on your actions.

Hi Again!

It's been a while since last time ;P
